Q: What aged players are appropriate for this program?

A: Players at this level of flag football should be enrolled in 3rd or 4th grade for the 2026-2027 school year.

Q: What time of the year does this program run?

A: The season begins at the end of August and runs through the middle of October.

Q: Where are practices typically held?

A: Practices are held at Baraboo High School in the outfield of the Thunderbird Field, by the tennis court.

Q: When are practices and how often are they?

A: Practices and games are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:15-6:45 pm.

Q: How many games will they play? What days of the week?

A: The second half of the season we transition to playing games instead of practicing. The games are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-6:30.

Q: Are jersey's and equipment provided or are they purchased separately?

A: Jersey's, practice equipment, and flags are all provided by BYF.

Q: What equipment do families need to provide for their athlete(s)?

A: Your athlete should have a water bottle when they come to practice and games. You can buy cleats, but they are not required. Cleats must be rubber, no metal tips.

Q: Is my athlete required to attend the Baraboo Football Camp in July in order to participate in the fall?

A: No, attendance at summer camp is not required. It is simply an extra opportunity to gain football specific skills and interact with players both older and younger in order to continue building a strong program.
